This accessibility statement applies to www.adoptnortheast.org.uk.

How accessible this website is

We’re working hard to ensure that as much of our website as possible can be accessed and understood by all however we are aware that some parts of the website are not currently fully accessible. These are mainly a part of the Squarespace code base.

  • Images in the Events pages do not have ALT text. This is beyond our control as they are part of the Acuity Scheduling code base.

  • There are contrast errors in the Events page. This is beyond our control as they are part of the Acuity Scheduling code base.

  • There are labelling issues in the Contact form. This is beyond our control as they are part of the Squarespace code base.

Adopt North East believes our website should be accessible for everyone. We do not currently intend to claim disproportionate burden for any website content.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

  • Where page banners have problematic ALT text, we have added additional ARIA values.

  • We have added ARIA tags to the mobile navigation structure.

  • We have added a ‘skip to content’ link.

  • We have added a visible focus attribute for keyboard navigation.

  • We are working to resolve outstanding accessibility issues in the Squarespace and Acuity Scheduling platforms.
